150 million: minimum number of personal computers that will be buried in U.S. landfills by 2005, according to a study by Carnegie Mellon University.

20.6 million: minimum number of PC’s that fell into disuse in 1998, according to the National Safety Council.

11%: percentage of those that were recycled.

Computers can contain up to 6.3% lead.
